FNB's Debt Protection will protect you and your family when you need it most.

What I can do with Debt Protection

As long as you are under 70 at the time of the incident, your family will benefit from free debt protection.

  • Protects your family against any outstanding debt on your credit card in the event of your death or permanent disability
  • The debt covered is equal to the outstanding balance up to a maximum amount allowed per card type

The maximum amount per card type is:

  • Petro (standalone) - E10 000
  • Credit - E20 000
  • Silver - E50 000
  • Gold - E80 000
  • Platinum - E100 000

Lost Card Protection


FNB offers Lost Card Protection should your credit card be lost or stolen.

Report immediately to our Call Centre between 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday or on Saturday between 8am to 1pm on 251 84606 or by phoning our Johannesburg Call Centre 24 hours a day on 00 27 11 369 1189 or 00 27 87 575 9406.

What I can do with Lost Card Protection

This covers you in the event of non-PIN related fraud on your account if your credit card is lost or stolen. In the event of your card being lost or stolen you should report the loss/theft immediately to the 24-hour Lost Card Hotline.

What does Lost Card Protection offer me?

  • You are covered if your card is lost or stolen
  • Contact the Lost Card Hotline any time day or night
  • Receive a new card free of charge

What do I need to apply?

  • Call the Lost Card Hotline immediately - 0800 110 132
  • Fax written confirmation of the loss/theft to FNB within 24 hours on +27 11 371 3850
  • Please note that this protection may not apply, if it is learnt that you were careless in protecting your card or PIN
